The Golf Club, opened in 1889 is worth visiting especially interesting the club house, with paintings and photographs of the olden days of the town. You can take leisure walks around the beautiful lake Gregory and enjoy stunning scenery and panoramic vista, with rugged mountains outlined against clearly blue sky making a breath -taking backdrop.
Nuwara Eliya gained recognition as an administrative district under the British since 1828. It’s salubrious climate was found as congenial by the British for rest and recreation.
